Bright Spot in Winter

cardinal

Northern Cardinal (Cardinalis cardinalis). My eyes are not great and I have yet to carry a pair of binoculars with me. However, in these bare branches of grey and brown, even I cannot miss this brilliant flash. One of the strategies that I’m trying to use to learn the birds on this site is through learning their sounds. The Cornell Lab of Ornithology link gives the bird song so that I can become familiar with it. When I hear their call, it is like hearing the voice of a someone I know.
